 History of Meitei, the real meiteis and mixed meiteis By Researcher Ally Shimray Originaly Meitei migrated from Thailand They first landed in Burma Kabou Valley, were chased out by Burmese, and landed in Moirang, later spread to Imphal Valley areas. Present Meitei is a multiracial mixed race including Indian Bengali blood. Some of the senior Meitei still use their surname as Tai..which means Thai.
